Good Neighbors Paraguay Continues 'Green Ribbon Campaign' to Promote Children's Rights

Good Neighbors Paraguay (country director Byounghee Lee) carried out the Lazo verdo campaign to promote awareness of children 's rights at the Asuncion large shopping mall in Paraguay.

On May 31, 2004, an 11 year-old girl who was selling orange juice on the streets in Paraguay was killed by sexual abuse, and this case raises awareness about the violation of child rights in the Paraguayan community.

Since then, the Paraguayan government and civic organizations have been conducting the 'Green Ribbon Campaign' every May to promote awareness of children's rights.

Good Neighbors Paraguay in collaboration with Green Ribbon created a promotional article engraved with this year’s campaign slogan "We Are Responsible", and distributed it to Paraguay's national schools and local governments.

In cooperation with the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), we campaigned for citizens at the large shopping mall in Asunción and distributed campaign promotional items to a total of 528 citizens.

In Paraguay's Antequera region, the city government and the citizens marched in peace with green balloons, anti-abortion banners, and green ribbons on their chests. Good Neighbors Paraguay carries out campaigns to improve government awareness and civil society awareness about the abolition of child abuse and child rights violations every year.

Thank you for your interest and support to Good Neighbors Paraguay, who is constantly striving to protect the rights of children and adolescents.
