  Back to the Projects List

Project Type: Water Well

Country: Chad

Recipients: 1500

Project Detail
Kolte floods often during rainy season and they have to drink the unsanitary water from the traditional well near their village. Many children in this village have died because of the diseases caused by the dirty water that they consume. Chad is Africa`s fifth-largest nation suffers from inadequate infrastructure and internal conflict. Poverty is rife, and health and social conditions compare unfavorably with those elsewhere in the region. After the war ended, people started to come back to the villages to reside. However, as the war devastated the area, there is no infrastructure founded. In particular, there is a serious water scarcity problem. Good Neighbors, Somang Society and The Korea Daily are joining the efforts to provide drinking water and prevent children from diseases caused by consumption of dirt water.
