Project Detail Djongo is a village that gets its water from the river and they cannot build a traditional well because of the constant flooding. The river water is not safe for consumption and they got sick often. With the new hand pump well, they get clean water and better quality of life with better health.
Chad is Africa`s fifth-largest nation suffers from inadequate infrastructure and internal conflict. Poverty is rife, and health and social conditions compare unfavorably with those elsewhere in the region.
After the war ended, people started to come back to the villages to reside. However, as the war devastated the area, there is no infrastructure founded. In particular, there is a serious water scarcity problem. Good Neighbors, Somang Society and The Korea Daily are joining the efforts to provide drinking water and prevent children from diseases caused by consumption of dirt water. |
