Our sense of value doesn't come from the size of our donor base, nor from the size of our budget. We believe our value is completely dependent on whether our work is effective in eradicating the effects of poverty in the world. We've tailored all of our operations to that point and collaborate with others to accomplish that goal, by employing locals to staff our offices, determining which projects would be most beneficial for the countries we work in, and what projects will bring the benefit to most people. This philosophy's brought us to the slums of Korogocho, Kenya, to the schools in Guatemala. We've built wells in Chad, Africa, and brought hope to victims of natural disasters in Thailand. We've provided education in Afghanistan, agricultural expertise to Tajikistan, and health improvement to Cambodia. In short, being a Good Neighbor is more than just an ideal. It's the way we live and work. |
