Good Neighbors delivered food and water in excluded region
As of Jan. 21st, Good Neighbors successfully distributed its first relief in Damien, the abandoned city of Haiti. Protected by US Army in prevention of possible riots and lootings, 5000 bags of rice and beans have safely delivered to people of Damien who were in the region outside of relief activity from any organization.
“One person received rations which can feed four people for two weeks of three meals a day”, said Byung Hee Lee, relief team captain of Good Neighbors. Three thousand people of 750 families expressed their joy. Suffering from famine and thirst with no reach of help from outside, some shed tears of gratitude and few tussled with begging for one more bag of food. A little girl with her parents grinned friendly to helpers.
Good Neighbors is planning for medical aids with consistent relief activity and disease quarantine. In addition to emergency relief, Good Neighbors is also planning to get involved in long term Haiti reconstruction project.
