Residents of Kenya struggle with meeting basic, simple needs such as shelter, water, food, and clothing. Abandoned and neglected children spend their lives surviving in poverty, roaming rural areas and urban slums. Some spend their time in the landfills, scrounging for food scraps with animals.

There is much to do in the country of Myanmar. As of 2008, the Government of Myanmar spent a mere 0.3% of its gross domestic product on health care. This is the lowest amount of GDP allocated to health care worldwide. Furthermore, outside aid for Myanmar is the second lowest per capital worldwide.1
Good Neighbors is hard at work to impact and reverse the conditions in Myanmar. Our presence in Myanmar is felt in the areas of education, health care and skill development. We believe that educational success of the children rests squarely on the provision of health care.

Bangladesh is the seventh most populous country in the world, as well as one of the most densely populated. The majority of the population still works in the agricultural sector, which makes up almost a quarter of the country’s annual export revenue. A number of problems stand in the way of the country’s economic recovery, which include corruption, prevalent poverty, and susceptibility to sudden climate changes. Because of these varied problems, a variety of organizations, including Good Neighbors, have been at work in Bangladesh for years to improve education rates and the overall economic stability of the country.
