| Most of the children in Korogocho live on less than a dollar a day. | ||
|
The only meal they eat is the one offered at school, therefore they are not raised with adequate care nor proper education from their family. |

Most children are getting elementary education since it became compulsory in Kenya in 2003. However, the number of middle schools is only about one-fifth of elementary schools. Since students have to pay for tuition fees, most teenagers in the slum start working from an early age. Therefore, we began the Vocational Training Center to teach carpentry, cloth manufacturing, cosmetics, and sewing along with a special meal service event. |
