Volunteers, both domestic and international, play a huge role in the success of our organization. Below, explore the many ways you can come change the world with us.

Volunteer Abroad

We're currently offering volunteer trips to Guatemala for our Project Cookstoves initative. Volunteers fly to Guatemala and participate in hands-on work with our local staff to build new, safe, and energy-efficient cookstoves for families in need. You'll personally meet the people you're helping, tour Good Neighbors community development projects, and enjoy tourist activities and cultural excursions on days off. Trips can also be customized to your skill set or for your faith-based organization.

We've found that crowdfunding is one of the most effective ways to raise money. Our platform of choice is CrowdRise, where you can create your own personal fundraising page for a Good Neighbors project you're passionate about and start raising money for the cause. Examples include asking for donations in lieu of birthday and wedding gifts, or for running a marathon or hosting a dance-off. Get creative and you'll be amazed how generous friends and family can be for a good cause!

President’s Volunteer Service Award

We want to honor and recognize the hard work of all of our volunteers. Good Neighbors is proud to be a certifying organization of the President’s Volunteer Service Award (PVSA), the premier volunteer awards program that encourages citizens to live a life of service. Any individual, family, or group that meets the program’s criteria can receive Presidential recognition for volunteer hours served over a 12-month period or over the course of a lifetime. Awards are issued to volunteers whose service hours go towards efforts to support Good Neighbors.
