Good Neighbors Japan was established as a non-profit organization in 2004 with the aim of engaging in international humanitarian aid to address global issues in developing countries. In 2007, the organization relocated from Osaka to Tokyo, where it expanded its operations both domestically and internationally. Since 2013, Good Neighbors Japan has been recognized as a certified NPO by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, signifying its status as an organization of high public interest.
Today, Good Neighbors Japan is actively working to improve the quality of life in Asian and African countries through initiatives focused on education, water, and health support. Within Japan, the organization is dedicated to enhancing living conditions for children by providing food assistance, particularly to single-parent families, which also contributes to reducing food loss and waste. Furthermore, Good Neighbors Japan provides emergency assistance to those affected by natural disasters and conflicts, both domestically and internationally.
Over the years, Good Neighbors Japan has built a strong foundation of trust and expanded its support network. The organization remains steadfast in its commitment to humanitarian aid, striving to bring hope and support to as many people as possible.
Good Neighbors Japan is committed to eliminating the causes of poverty and discrimination and addressing the threats posed by disasters and conflicts, with the aim of creating a society where everyone can live with dignity and where children have smiles on their faces.
We contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through a variety of activities. Overall, we support 15 of the 17 goals, with our largest contributions coming from SDGs 2 (Zero Hunger), 3 (Good Health and Well-being), 4 (Quality Education), and 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation).
