Health, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene

Good Neighbors builds a community environment for the health of children and community members.

People exercise the right to health

The right to health is a fundamental human right and is one of the essential conditions for exercising other human rights. However, not everyone can fully enjoy the right to health. Many people including the pregnant and children still cannot access crucial health services, so leads to high maternal mortality, child death and various infectious diseases. In addition, millions of people are at great risk to poor life conditions and health due to drinking insufficient water and water-borne diseases because no clean and sufficient water sources is available.

We recognize that ensuring people’s right to health is more than important. Therefore, we will work to ensure that people have access to basic health services. In addition, we will improve the access to drinking water and hygiene facilities to provide safe and sufficient drinking water.

Our Focus on Healthcare

Ensuring universal access to basic healthcare

With policy advocacy and capacity development of health service providers, we work to enable the provision of quality health services meeting the basic needs for everyone. Furthermore, we support the establishment of community-based health assistance to overcome the financial barriers to basic health services.

Enabling access to quality Maternal and Child Health (MCH) and Sexual Reproductive Health (SRH) services

We promote community awareness on maternal & child health services and capacity development of service providers for maternal and infant needs. In addition, we promote the practice of healthy sexual & reproductive practices through awareness development.

Supporting people’s access to safe water and sanitation

We work together with communities to ensure sufficient supplies of safe water for everyone. We promote people’s awareness of good hygiene and sanitary practices.
