Good Neighbors launched its mission in the Kyrgyz Republic in 2014, aiming to support rural communities in their social and economic development. During a period of political instability and increasing disparities between rural and urban living standards, this support has been crucial for achieving sustainable development, especially in the face of global challenges affecting livelihoods of people in the rural area, such as climate change.
Since its inception, Good Neighbors Kyrgyz Republic has made significant strides in collaboration with residents and local authorities. The organization has enhanced the quality of school education, improved access to medical services, protected the rights of children and vulnerable groups, raised incomes through capacity building, provided essential equipment and products, upgraded infrastructure, and supported affected people by natural disasters. These efforts have benefited residents of over 80 villages across 6 provinces.
Currently, Good Neighbors Kyrgyz Republic is implementing four community development projects and other collaboration projects including a multi-year rural development project funded jointly with the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA). The organization places special emphasis on strengthening existing partnerships and creating new ones. This strategic approach aims to contribute to the country’s development in line with state development programs and ensure long-term sustainability.
Good Neighbors Kyrgyz Republic is committed to improving living conditions in remote areas, expanding access to quality education and healthcare, enhancing the rights of children and women, and promoting economic well-being.
Our interventions align with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly contributing to SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being), SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 5 (Gender Equality), SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
