Good Neighbors began its operations in Sri Lanka by providing urgent relief to communities displaced by the devastating tsunami in 2004. Our initial activities focused on the Matara district in the Southern Province under the disaster response program. This program later evolved into community development initiatives with a comprehensive approach to addressing the diverse challenges faced by vulnerable populations in Sri Lanka.
Today, we operate in multiple districts with a primary focus on education and health. One of our recent initiatives supports underprivileged students by offering economic aid, educational resources, and healthcare services, aiming to help them overcome socio-economic barriers and achieve academic success. Additionally, our interventions emphasize improving menstrual health and hygiene among rural schoolgirls by distributing hygiene packs and raising awareness, ensuring no girl’s education is interrupted.
We are dedicated to sustainable development and improving child welfare in Sri Lanka. By collaborating with local communities and international partners, we strive to foster sustainable growth and enhance the quality of life for vulnerable populations.
We enhance the quality of life for vulnerable communities in Sri Lanka through sustainable development initiatives.
Our interventions align with SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being), SDG 4 (Quality Education), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
