Good Neighbors expresses its deepest sympathy to the communities affected by the devastating earthquakes that struck Venezuela on 24 June 2026. The earthquakes caused widespread destruction to homes, public infrastructure, and essential services, leaving thousands of families in urgent need of humanitarian assistance. Families have lost loved ones, their homes, and their sense of safety. Children, in particular, are facing fear, uncertainty, and significant disruption to their daily lives.
As aftershocks continue, many families remain displaced, taking shelter in cars, makeshift tents, and other temporary accommodations without reliable access to electricity, safe drinking water, food, or protection services.
In response to this crisis, Good Neighbors is preparing an emergency response to protect the safety, well-being, and dignity of children and their families. Initial support is expected to include emergency shelter and other essential relief items, while additional assistance will be determined based on ongoing needs assessments and operational feasibility. We are closely monitoring the evolving situation through our humanitarian networks and local partners and coordinating with relevant authorities and humanitarian organizations to identify priority needs and provide timely, needs-based assistance in accordance with humanitarian principles.
We stand ready to work alongside affected communities, national authorities, and humanitarian partners to support communities affected. We call upon the international community to stand in solidarity with the people of Venezuela by supporting timely, coordinated, and needs-based humanitarian assistance. Together, we can help children, families, and communities recover, rebuild, and look toward the future with hope.
