Standing for Peace and Humanity of the People and Children in Gaza

Date: November 07, 2025

Good Neighbors acknowledge the current ceasefire in Gaza as a vital moment of relief for civilians after two years of immense suffering. This period of calm must not be lost; it represents a test of humanity’s collective will to protect the lives, dignity, and hope of all civilians affected by the conflict.

Although the ceasefire has brought a brief respite, the humanitarian situation in Gaza remains dire. Families continue to live amid devastation, displacement, and trauma. Thousands of children are still without safe shelter, education, or adequate healthcare. The psychological scars of prolonged conflict have left many struggling to regain a sense of safety and normalcy.

Good Neighbors calls on all parties to the conflict to uphold international humanitarian law, exercise maximum restraint, and ensure civilians are protected from harm. Any act that could reignite violence would only deepen the suffering and loss already endured by the people and children of Gaza.

Humanitarian access must be restored without conditions. Opening all crossings is essential to deliver life-saving assistance and reconstruction materials. The restoration of health facilities, water networks, and schools must be prioritized; these are the foundations of dignity, recovery, and hope for Gaza’s children and families.

Good Neighbors has been actively supporting communities in Gaza since August 2024, remaining steadfast in its commitment to the most vulnerable. As a child-focused humanitarian organization, we continue to work closely in partnership with local partners to deliver safe drinking water, food, cash assistance, education in emergencies, and psychosocial support for children. Building on the outcomes of our emergency response, we are now preparing to expand recovery efforts and child protection interventions aimed at strengthening community resilience and restoring hope for families.

Good Neighbors urges the international community, including governments, donors, and multilateral partners, to sustain humanitarian engagement and diplomatic efforts that protect civilians, support recovery, and consolidate progress toward lasting peace. A lasting response demands solidarity and coordinated action among NGOs, private actors, and community-based organizations, guided by compassion and shared responsibility to reach those most in need.

Peace cannot be imposed; it must be nurtured through justice, humanity, and the protection of every child’s right to live free from fear. Good Neighbors stands with all who work to transform this ceasefire into lasting hope and peace. Every step toward peace begins with protecting the most vulnerable children.
