Good Neighbors launched its Australian office in 2018 to help protect the rights and wellbeing of children, while strengthening the families and communities they live in. In Australia, programs have focused on supporting people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, including refugees and minority communities, in collaboration with government agencies, corporates, philanthropic foundations, community-based organizations and volunteers.
Globally, child sponsorship support is directed to Vietnam, while community development projects and humanitarian aid are implemented through priority partners in Bangladesh, Mozambique, Philippines, Romania, Ukraine and Vietnam.
Good Neighbours Australia, which was accredited by peak industry body the Australian Council for International Development in July 2024, joins its international peers in collective action against poverty, working to create a just, equitable and sustainable world.
Our interventions are aligned with several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) with the most significant focused on SDG 1: No Poverty, SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being, SDG 4: Quality Education, SDG 5: Gender Equality, and SDG 6: Clean Water and Sanitation and SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth.
