Good Neighbors stands in solidarity with those affected by the devastating humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip, expressing deep concern for the most vulnerable communities, children, and families.
We welcome the recent ceasefire as a crucial step toward reducing immediate risks and facilitating humanitarian assistance while calling for a permanent ceasefire. While this pause opens a critical window for essential humanitarian aid to reach those in urgent need, long-term solutions are needed to ensure the protection and well-being of all affected people.
As a child rights and child protection organization, Good Neighbors is particularly alarmed by the catastrophic impact on children in Gaza. The conflict has severely disrupted the lives, safety, and education of a whole generation. More than 658,000 children remain out of school, and at least 17,000 have been separated from their families. Children are facing unimaginable physical and psychological trauma with many wounded, displaced, orphaned, or suffering severe emotional distress.
No child should endure this suffering. Yet, the ongoing crisis has destroyed their fundamental rights—to protection, education, and even survival. More than 14,000 children have been killed, and tens of thousands have been injured.
The recent ceasefire is a temporary relief, but lasting peace and immediate humanitarian access are critical to protecting the most vulnerable—Gaza’s children.
Good Neighbors, supporting conflict-affected people in Gaza since August 2024, remains steadfast in its commitment to urgent action, in close collaboration with local partners, authorities, and humanitarian organizations, including the UN, to deliver critical, life-saving assistance. We are committed to strengthening local response capacities and ensuring the protection and dignity of the communities we serve particularly through emergency relief in food, water, and shelter, prioritizing the most vulnerable.
We call on the global community to remain united and act decisively in the pursuing peace and sustained humanitarian support for Gaza. While the ceasefire is an essential step, Good Neighbors emphasizes the need for long-term solutions that uphold human rights, restore dignity, and secure the well-being of all affected.
Good Neighbors pledges to continue advocating for the urgent needs of those affected and supporting international efforts to achieve a lasting, just, and peaceful resolution to this humanitarian crisis. Among all we remain committed to protecting the rights and dignity of the people in Gaza, particularly children and those most at risk, ensuring their voices are heard, and their future are safeguarded.
In these challenging times, Good Neighbors stresses that global solidarity and collective action are crucial for alleviate suffering and building a path toward lasting peace and recovery.
